And we are celebrating by undertaking a number of science experiments which have seen the pupils blowing bubbles and wearing shaving foam!!
One experiment was to see if a balloon would inflate with fizzy water. The water is placed inside the balloon and the balloon is tied and then shaken ... and it worked. Although lemonade did work better!!
The children also had to decide if 'gloop' was liquid or solid. Mixing cornflour and water produced the gloop but was it liquid or was it solid? The jury is still out, watery on top but definitely heading to be a solid underneath.
And how about sucking through a straw, can it be done even with a very long straw? What can be picked up?
All this and it is not even lunch time!! This afternoon there will be rocket making and investigation into if it is possible to make a paper cup out of normal paper and will it transport any water ... TBC!
