Budding Writers

Just before Christmas, Class 3 entered a writing competition. We had to write a saga in less than 50 words which is much harder than it sounds! We were delighted to hear that 23 of us have had our work chosen for publication.

We will be getting a complimentary copy of the book so you will soon be able to read all our sagas. In the meantime, here are a few to whet your appetite ...

The Voices by Molly
It was dark; you could hear the sounds of the past dead, and the stories that had been told. She was listening too ... She knew what would happen if she didn't obey the voices; the dreadful fate, the eternal darkness ...

The Battle by Ethan
A dark black battlefield. All quiet. Silent. A stampede of warriers, 15000 against 300. All that could be heard was clatter of spears, shields and swords. People dying. Then the battle was over.

The Shadow by Millie
It happened at dusk. He was alone. He saw this dark misty shadow behind the trees. Suddenly it was moving! He couldn't hear himself breathe. It was so quiet; he saw it again. It's running towards him. It's just a blur to him but for us it's different.

A Crushing Life by Florence
He was trapped, in a locked room, without windows but he could hear the slightest of tapping. Was he alone? Suddenly he was hit by a stone, then another, then another, then another. It stopped, his breathing stopped, the door opened ...

Safer Neighbourhood Teams Partnership Awards

Well done to all the team involved in this year's campaign! On 8th November our team came joint runner up in these awards, involving teams from all over Suffolk, show casing their various campaigns, aiming to bring co-operation and unity between the Police and community.

It was a very interesting day, if a bit nerve wracking!

Welcome back!

Welcome back to all pupils and staff after the summer holidays. Staff were in on Wednesday for our Professional Development Day. We were joined, in the morning, by staff from Dennington, as we are hoping to work increasingly closely with our partner school as time goes on.
The children have been settling in over this Thursday and Wednesday. Its always so exciting moving up to a new class and getting to know your new routine. Even more excited are those new children starting in reception, we welcome them to Charsfield and are sure they will be very happy here.
We've already had brilliant news! Last term Class 3 entered a competition to draw a picture inspired by the sea side. We received the news only yesterday that one of our new year 6s, Brittany Kemp, has won! So well done Brittany. Her prize was a lovely folder full of fun activities and advice to help her become an even better artist!

Prize Winners for Suffolk Dog Day

Class 1 had 3 winners in the drawing competition for Suffolk Dog Day. A pupil from each year group won a prize. We are very proud of our budding artists.

Congratulations to the winners of our Scraptues competition!
There were some absolutely amazing entries and the team found it nearly impossible to choose the winners. The imagination shown was truly brilliant and all entrants should be very proud of themselves. However, after lots and lots of discussion we finally managed to make a decision.
